Our Military Diva Of the Week is Simone Askew, the first African-American female to be appointed as First Captain at the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School (West Point Prep for short).

The 20-year-old International History major has had a love for serving the Military ever since she saw a group of Midshipmen march onto a Navy football game as a 3rd grader. Since then the Military, in parti…cular the Army, has become a passion of hers. On 13 August, Cadet Askew will be leading more than 4,400 Cadets as First Captain. In this role, she will be responsible for the overall performance of the Corps of Cadets, implementing a class agenda and acting as liaison between the Corps and the administration. She is currently in charge of leading 1,502 Cadets as the Regimental Commander of Cadet Basic Training II.

Congratulations to this Military Diva on making history and showing the world that you can achieve any goal you set forth!
